This vulnerability happened to my site today (hours before this release) and almost caused me to re-think Wordpress. I’ve been hacked before a few times and I was really getting tired of it.

But once again the Wordpress community is REALLY on top of things. By the time I changed quite a few settings and added a bunch of security plugins, this 2.8.4 Security Release came out.

My faith in Wordpress has been restored, but to every WP user UPDATE NOW. My password got changed about 50 times in a few hours. Incredibly annoying.

I was really surprised that we’ve gotten so many quick updates with the 2.8 version of wordpress, sorry to hear that you got hacked a few times, but like you said updating is a must for anyone that wants to be more secure =D

That sounds like the wordpress update came just in time. It would be extremely annoying to have my password changed 50 times. Still it is good that wordpress took take of this vulnerability asap.
