Searching for Your Submitted Articles
November 22, 2006 // Drew Stauffer
I’ve been submitting articles more aggressively this past year and I must confess I began mainly for SE rankings, but then I really got into it. I never thought of myself as a writer but throughout my life and business I’ve learned that I have a lot to say.
I try to be very proactive about my articles because I do put a lot of time and energy into them. The other day I started to wonder where they all were. Do you know how to search for your submitted articles? How many links have you acquired?
If you search for your article with quotes around it, the SE will list all the sites that have your article published. (EX. “Your New Website is Insideâ€) I was shocked to see that one of my articles, which had been published only 55 days earlier, was already listed on more than 140 other sites. Not too bad for only submitting it to 3 article directories.
Ready to try your hand and see how far your articles go on the web? Here is a list of free article directories to get you started:

Article submissions, PR submissions and directory submissions all help in relevant link building that help in SEO.
But article submission and PR submissions give you more benefit than link building alone. You can actually push sale pitches, directly or indirectly intended to capture a conversion by a sale or lead, or just to strengthen your brand.
I have used all these methods and first I was all doing it myself. But as SEO clients increase and network contacts increase, you get your own favorite writers and people that do nothing but submissions for you and it just gets easier. You’re lucky I guess you have a real handy SEO writer literally with you.
I suggest you check out the podcast of, I’m not sure who, I think it was by “Marketing Experiment”. They did a good marketing comparison of using a marketing budget on PPC and PR/Article submissions and with the same amount of expense, the PR/Articles converted with a better ROI than PPC. Check it out.

You’re right, having an in-house SEO writer sure does help that side of things. haha
